Heart Zia

This symbol which adorns a 12th century temple complex at Angkor, Cambodia, bears a striking resemblance to the Zia on the New Mexico state flag. The zia symbol has sacred meaning to the people of Zia Pueblo. Four is a sacred number which symbolizes the Circle of Life: four winds, four seasons, four directions, and four sacred obligations. The circle binds the four elements of four together.
